Hurley Parish Council has no executive powers in deciding planning applications – this is the prerogative of Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead Council, which is the local Planning Authority. Whilst the Parish Council does not have the power to determine applications its local knowledge is sought on each and every application. Members of the public, including applicants and their neighbours, are of course welcome to attend our Parish meetings and will be given an opportunity to air their views. The Parish Council strongly advises applicants to talk to their neighbours about their proposals, before submitting a planning application to RBWM.

Members of the public are welcome to attend our meetings and address Councillors on planning matters. To assist the public, we have prepared a short guide to our procedures, which can be seen here.

You can check the RBWM website for details of any planning application. You can search by application number, house name, postcode etc and a list of documents associated with the application will be shown here.

Please note that all areas of Hurley Parish are protected by Green Belt GB1-GB11. All areas (with the exception of small parts of Knowl Hill and Burchetts Green) are further protected by Policy N1 – Area of Special Landscape interest.
